The annual end of the year Scout banquet was a smash!. Parents and scouts gathered for a feast and an an evening of tribute to the scouts.  Scouts were honored for their activities throughour the year as well as advanced to the next scouting level.

Scouts from all over the Utah converged on the Salt Lake County Fair Grounds to show off their skills. The Scout-O-Rama is an annual event to show case the general tenants of scouting.  By the photos turned in... it looks like eveyone had fun.  Pack 3617 staged a booth which informed other scouts and citizens about the mobility problems associated with the use of wheel chairs and crutches.  The scouts allowed those interested to manuever on crutches and play hockey in wheel chairs.  Thanks to all that participated and represented our Pack 3617!

Marie Walsh and her trained dogs were our guest for the evening. She showed us what she has trained her animals to do and how you could train your animal at home.

Tha annual St. Patrick's Day Parade in Salt Lake City featured entries from schools and organizations from across Utah.  St. Vincent de Paul school students, faculty, and parents marched the green line in downtown Salt Lake City. 
 

Recognized as a member of several Native American Nations, Apace McLane exhibited for us several native dances.  He was complete with costume for each dance and gave an explanation and interpertation of the dance.  The customes were authentic and a real treat for everyone.  The highlight was the snake dance. 
 

Scouts and parents gathered for a night of cub scout pinewood car derby racing it the Benvegnu Center at Saint Vincent de Paul Church. Pre-race activities included a potluck dinner that was enjoyed by all.  Pit area action was frantic as racers and parents alike performed final car adjustments prior to the weigh-in.  Then it was off to the races!
